Nick van de Wall also known as Afrojack is a 9 time MTV Europe Music Awards nominated record producer and DJ from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He began playing the piano at the age of 5. By the age of 14 he was DJing in clubs.
He got his first taste of international success in 2010 after releasing Take Over Control which charted in multiple countries and sold more than 1 million copies in the USA. He collaborated with numerous artists including Pitbull, Ne-Yo, David Guetta, Ester Dean, Nicki Minaj, O.T. Genesis and Bebe Rexha.
Afrojack has his own record label, Wall Recordings which was once a sub-label of Spinnin Records until 2016. His debut studio album Forget the World was released in 2014 and charted in various countries all in Europe, Australia, Japan and the US.
He also contributed to Beyonce’s single Run the World (Girls). He has released 1 studio album, 4 EPs, more than 50 singles and countless remixes to date.
Afrojack has been an FL Studio user ever since he got involved in music production. He has a huge collection of software synthesizers including Arturia Jupiter-8V, reFX Nexus 2, Native Instruments Komplete, Native Instruments Absynth as well as the stock FL Studio plugins such as 3xOsc.
Other pieces of gear that Afrojack uses include an M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface, a Samson Meteor USB microphone, an Apogee Ensemble FireWire audio interface and a Lynx Hilo AD/DA converter.
His VST effects plugins include the GVST suite, Waves suite, Nicky Romero Kickstart, Image-Line Grossbeat, iZotope Ozone, Kjaerhus classic effects suite as well as stock effects plugins such as the Fruity Parametric EQ2.
He has a wide variety of monitors which include a pair of KRK Rokit 8, KRK VXT8, Alesis M1, Dynaudio BM15A, Barefoot Sound MicroMain 27 as well as PSI Audio A21-m studio monitors. His DJ setup consists of a Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro, Pioneer DJM-800 mixer, Pioneer CDJ-2000, Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus and a Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus.
