Axwell is a Swedish DJ and producer who’s had success as a solo musician as well as part of the super group Swedish House Mafia, with his colleagues Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. Axwell started playing drums at the age of 9. By the age of 13 he got a computer to make music with.

His breakthrough came in 2004 upon the release of his single Feel the Vibe which became a huge hit in 2005 and hit the number 1 position on the UK Singles Chart. He continued to release music as a solo artist and through various collaborations including the Swedish House Mafia who released 2 successful studio albums together.

After the breakup of the group, he continued to release music and eventually formed a duo with Sebastian Ingrosso which was dubbed Axwell Λ Ingrosso. Axwell has also released a number of remixes and has been nominated for a Grammy Award 6 times.

Axwell’s music setup is not widely known. He uses a Mac Pro and MacBook Pro which are running Apple Logic. He’s been known to use a set of Tannoy Reveal studio monitors. He also has several pieces of hardware including a Korg Trinity synthesizer, Korg M3-M Synth Workstation sampler, a Native Instruments KORE 2, a pair of Pioneer HDJ-2000 headphones, an Akai Pro LPK25 MIDI controller as well as an Avid Fast Track Duo audio interface.

He uses a lot of software plugins such as Sonic Charge Synplant, Sylenth1, reFX Nexus 2, Omnisphere, Celemony Melodyne Editor, KV331 Audio SynthMaster software synthesizer and various Waves plugins. He’s been known to use Pioneer Rekordbox DJ software during live performances. Other DJ equipment he has used in the past includes a Pioneer CDJ-2000 and a Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus mixer.
