Siblings Dimitri and Michael Thivaios widely known as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are well-known for their music production and DJing on the EDM scene. The brothers hail from Belgium and have made it to the top 2 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list from 2014 till 2017.
They mostly make electro house, big room, and progressive house music. They caught the attention of Axwell in 2008 after releasing La Cocaina (Eivissa 2007). They went on to create more songs and ended up touring and DJing at various festivals such as Tomorrowland.
By 2015 they were a hot commodity, managing to sell out 40,000 tickets to the Bringing the Madness 3.0 concert in less than 40 minutes. The duo has collaborated with the likes of Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Ne-Yo and David Guetta. Their discography is made up of 27 singles, 1 compilation album, and 26 music videos. They are yet to release a studio album.
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike use Apple Logic Pro and Sony Acid Pro which runs on a Mac Pro. They don’t use many hardware synthesizers and rely mostly on VSTs and software synths such as Sonic Academy ANA 2, Massive, reFX Nexus and Sylenth1.
The Grimm Audio LS1be, Pioneer S-DJ05, and KRK Rokit 8 monitors are their speakers of choice. They use a variety of headphones including Beats by Dre Mixr, Pioneer HDJ-2000, V-Moda Crossfade LP2, Bose QuietComfort and V-Moda Crossfade M-100 headphones.
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Focusrite Forte USB audio interfaces handle much of the A/D and D/A workload in their setup. They also have several mini keyboards such as the Akai MPK Mini MKII, Korg nanoKEY2 Slim-Line USB keyboard controller and the Akai MPK Mini laptop production keyboard.
