Ryan Gary Raddon who uses the stage name Kaskade is a 5 time Grammy nominated American record producer and DJ. He’s most known for helping spearhead the revival of the progressive house genre in the USA alongside Wolfgang Gartner and Deadmau5 circa 2008 – 2009.
Prior to becoming a professional musician Kasdake worked in a record store and was at one point an A&R assistant at Om Records in San Franscisco, California. He was eventually offered a record deal with the label and began to release music to a wider audience, garnering critical acclaim in the process. His first single on the label was released in 2001.
By 2006 he had released his fourth studio album and had several top 10 hits under his belt. His 2009 collaboration with Deadmau5, titled I Remember, was a hit in the UK. He went on to have several more hits and ended up performing at various dance music festivals including the Coachella Valley Music Festival.
He’s a member of several groups such as Summer Space, The Sellars, and Late Night Alumni. He has released 10 studio albums, 7 mix albums, 3 compilation albums and over 50 singles. His song 4 AM has been used in the Grand Theft Auto V video game.
Kaskade’s primary digital audio workstation is Pro Tools which he has used for more than 15 years. He also uses Ableton Live as well as Propellerhead Reason for additional production and creating templates. He has quite a bit of hardware in his setup which includes an Akai Professional APC40, Dangerous Music BAX EQ, API 2500 stereo compressor, Akai MPC Renaissance, Apogee Duet 2 USB audio interface, Akai LPK25 USB MIDI keyboard, Kush Audio UBK Clariphonic parallel equalizer and a Pendulum OCL-2 Stereo Tube Optical mastering compressor.
His VST plugin arsenal is well stocked with a copy of Spectrasonics Trilian, reFX Nexus, Spectrasonic Omnisphere, Waves effects bundle, FocusRite d2/d3 plugins, SoundToys EchoBoy and Xfer Serum.
