Martin Garrix came up as part of the new wave of young EDM producers in the early to mid 2010s. The Dutch musician was ranked the number 1 DJ of the year consecutively in 2016 and 2017. His 2013 monster hit Animals propelled him to international fame. The music video has been viewed more than 1 billion times on YouTube and the song hit the top 10 in multiple countries.
He has since released more than 40 singles, 33 music videos, a compilation album and a large number of remixes. He has been nominated for multiple awards and has won many, most notably 3 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Artists he has worked with include the man who inspired him to start making dance music Tiësto, Afrojack, Usher, David Guetta and Dillon Francis. As of 2017, Garrix became a resident DJ at Hï Ibiza club in Spain. He currently releases his music via various record labels including Columbia, RCA and Sony Music.

Martin Garrix prefers to keep a minimalist setup when producing music. Multiple versions of FL Studio run on his computer. He doesn’t use a lot of hardware instead preferring to rely more on software instruments and effects. He uses a pair of KRK Rokit 6 monitors as his primary speakers. His audio interface is the ever-popular Apogee Duet. He has a Roland A-500S MIDI keyboard controller, Native Instruments Maschine and Novation Launchpad Mk2 in his studio.
During his DJ sets, he uses a variety of hardware products such as the Pioneer XDJ-R1, Pioneer CDJ-2000 Nexus, and a Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus mixer.
