Showtek is a Dutch electronic music duo consisting of brothers Sjoerd and Wouter Janssen. The duo has worked with high profile artists such as Tiesto, David Guetta and Chris Brown, Hardwell and Major Lazer.
They got started in music in 2001. Their debut studio album Today is Tomorrow was released in 2007 via their own label Dutch Master Works. Their sophomore effort Analogue Players in a Digital World dropped in 2009 under the same label. They collaborated with their fellow Dutchman Tiesto in 2011 and 2012, releasing Hell Yeah in the process.
In 2013 they founded a label called Skink which has a relationship with Spinnin Records. One song of note from their discography is Bad which was released in 2014 and ended up spending 239 weeks on 19 distinct music charts. Collaborators on the song are David Guetta and Vassy.
Another song of note is the 2013 track titled Booya. The song features We Are Loud and Sonny Wilson. Showtek has released 1 compilation album, 1 mix album, 1 EP and more than 40 singles. The brothers mainly concentrate techno, had style, electro house as well as progressive house.
The duo uses a sizeable number of software instruments such as LinPlug MorphoX, Native Instruments Massive, Sonic Charge MicroTonic, reFX Nexus, Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, Rob Papen Predators and Access Virus TI Control.
The brothers use various headphones for in their studio and when DJing. Some of the models they use include AKG K267 Tiesto, Bose QuietComfort 14, Beats by Dre Mixr, Pioneer HDJ-2000 and Sennheiser HD 25-1 II.
Steinberg Cubase, Image-Line FL Studio 12 and Ableton Live are the 3 primary DAWs used by Showtek. Genelec 826A, Yamaha HS8, and Mackie HR824 are some of the monitors used by the brothers.
