Anton Igorevich Zaslavski aka Zedd is a Russian electro house producer who has collaborated with many established musicians including Ryan Tedder, Ellie Goulding, Job Bellion, Selena Gomez, Logic, Kesha, Ariana Grande, Alessia Cara and Hayley Williams among others. At least 7 songs he has contributed to have been certified platinum for sales of 1 million copies. His songs Clarity and Break Free have both sold more than 3 million copies each, making them his biggest singles to date.
Zedd is the son of two musicians. He plays piano and drums, which he began learning at the age of 4 and 12 respectively. His first sign of success in the industry came in 2010 after his single The Anthem reached the top 20 of the Beatport Electro house chart.
He’s signed to Interscope Records through which he has released 2 studio albums to date. He has also worked on a large number of remixes for the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and The Black Eyed Peas. He has participated in a sizeable amount of tours and has been nominated for various awards. He won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his song Clarity in 2014.
Zedd uses Cubase as his DAW and doesn’t run too much hardware. He does, however, use an M-Audio Axiom 61 MIDI keyboard controller, an Apogee Duet USB audio interface and a CME XKey 37key Mobile Keyboard Controller. Sylenth1 is one of his favorite software plugins it’s the one he uses for most of his productions even for some percussion sounds. He also uses reFX Nexus 2, Omnisphere, Native Instruments Komplete 8 and KV331 Audio SynthMaster for crafting some of his sounds.
